"On a hill nearby the village Grigorovka, where I currently live, there is an abandoned tank left as a relic of the Battle of the Dnieper river, a historical World War II battle fought in 1943. Once I heard the residents of Grigorovka talk about “the weather near the tank” as if the weather in that particular spot was different than anywhere else and had an unnatural origin. I went to see with my own eyes and found myself in front of a sort of golden mirage created by fog and light, which was actually localized to that small area only. It called to mind several folklore stories about the supernatural character of weather and romantic canvases, the personages of which are fascinated by the miraculous phenomena. This all inspired a cause for a short visual reflection on the weather as the experience of the sublime and its interpretations." – Yana Kononova
